Downtown Staunton in the news

Pufferbellies and our Shop Sundays for a Cause program make a surprise appearance in this article about Shenandoah Pizza. (The mention is thanks to Pufferbellies employee Nick’s new enterprise, the Split Banana. ICE CREAM!)

Also, here’s a cute picture of Pufferbellies regular Noah at the SDDA’s annual Trick-or-Treat, which took place yesterday.

And here’s a wrap-up and wrap-forward of the weekend at Pufferbellies.

On Friday, we hosted our second annual Spooky Stories and had a great turnout! Thanks to everyone who came — when the “Spooky Club from Waynesboro” rolled in, we knew we were in for a night of big-time fun.

Yesterday, more than 250 kids stopped by for trick-or-treating. We had just enough candy, but we ran out of balloons. Sorry! If you missed a balloon, stop by later in the week and we’ll make sure you get one.

We collected several books over the weekend for the Warren H. Drumheller Memorial Book Drive. Our pile of donated books is growing! If you’d like to donate a book but are unsure what titles your librarian might need, I’d encourage you to call the school and ask. We have had excited responses from many area librarians, and I know of at least one who has a list you can pick from. If we don’t have the book you’d like to donate in stock, let us know and we can special-order it for you. (Next year, we will improve the program by asking librarians to supply us with lists of requests ahead of time.)

And finally, our Shop Sundays for a Cause program continues today, with 10% of the day’s sales going to New Directions Center.
