If you’re free next Tuesday night (March 11), you should head down to the Dixie Theater at 7:30 for a screening of the documentary film Independent America. This film looks at small businesses fighting back “as Americans look to shore up their local communities in the face of daunting globalization, terrorism, corporate scandal, and divisive politics.”
After the film, there will be a panel discussion with several Staunton businesses owners (including either me or Susan) and a representative from the city’s Economic Development Department. Should be cool.
The film is presented by the Valley Market, a new grocery co-op that’s being developed in Staunton. Please see their website for more information about the screening, and to learn more about the co-op.
